This month, KLM scholars (and brothers!) Thubelihle and Siphesihle made history at Uplands as the first students to be selected for the prestigious Grant Khomo Week, representing the Pumas Provincial Rugby Team. This is an extraordinary accomplishment, particularly given that neither had played rugby before arriving at Uplands in 2023. Their rapid progress and determination reflect exceptional natural talent, resilience, and a strong work ethic.
The boys have achieved a remarkable balance between academic success and sporting excellence, all while maintaining humble, hard-working, and well-grounded personalities. Their growth over the past two years has been nothing short of inspiring.
Siphesihle aspires to study Engineering, while Thubelihle has expressed a keen interest in pursuing a career in Medicine. Both are looking forward to gaining exposure to these fields during the upcoming work experience trip to Johannesburg in October.
