CURRENT KLM SCHOLARS

Wisani

At Uplands, Wisani has excelled in her journey through the KLM program, nurturing her diverse talents. Over five yeas, her personal and academic growth at Uplands has been profound. Wisani’s efforts have been recognized with offers of admission from both WITS University and Stellenbosch University, where she plans to pursue a Bachelor of Commerce, specializing in Economics, Politics, and Philosophy – a choice that reflects her intellectual curiosity and broad interests.

SAMkelisiwe

Samu has reached her final year of high school in the KLM program and has been accepted to pursue a degree in Commerce and Accounting at the University of Johannesburg next year. She has had an impressive tenure during her time at Uplands, excelling in quantitative subjects while also making her mark as a scholar-athlete and representing the school at the highest level, playing for both the 1st team hockey and soccer squads.

Colisile

Now in Grade 11, Colisile has had a remarkable journey in the KLM program, thriving both academically and with her extracurricular and community commitments. This year, she was selected as a peer mentor on campus. She enjoys choir and marimba band and has shown strong interest in the life sciences and medical fields. She’s thinking carefully about her university options as she prepares to apply next year.

siphesihle

Siphesihle joined the KLM program three years ago, never having touched a rugby ball. This year, with his brother they made history at Uplands as the first students to be selected for the prestigious Grant Khomo week, representing the Pumas Provincial Rugby team. As a scholar-athlete, Siphesihle balances rugby prowess with academic focus. He plans to study engineering at university in a few years.

Like his brother, Thubelihle has achieved remarkable balance and success as a scholar-athlete, all while maintaining humility, working hard, and contributing to the school community. Now in Grade 10, Thubelihle plans to pursue medicine at university, and he’ll gain exposure to career options over the next two years. For now, he continues to dazzle on the rugby field, setting records and inspiring the community.

LINDOKUHLE

Lindokuhle is a bright and vibrant learner whose energy lights up every room. Excelling in her 9th-grade year, Lindokuhle dreams of becoming a pediatrician one day and is already devoting herself to her life sciences and math studies. She has made her mark on campus as a leader of the debate team, where her confidence, creativity, and strong communication skills shine through.

Mthokozisi “ryan'“

Now in 9th grade, Ryan is a friendly and social young man who thrives in group settings, building strong connections with those around him through his warmth and approachable nature. He is drawn to science, technology, and invention in his studies and has big dreams to pursue a career in engineering one day. Ryan enjoys participating in various sports and is a valued member of the student community.

Lethokuhle

Lethokuhle is a focused and engaged student who has quickly found his place at Uplands. Now finishing his 8th-grade year, he is thriving both academically and socially, and greatly enjoys playing soccer and swimming. Lethokuhle’s curiosity and sharp intellect are especially evident in science and mathematics, where he approaches challenges with creativity and insight.

Currently in the 8th grade, Xoliswa is a bright and determined student who approaches her academics with enthusiasm and a strong sense of purpose. She has a curious mind and an eagerness to engage with new ideas. Every day, she shows her dedication to doing her best. Beyond Xoliswa’s academic strengths, she enjoys spending time reading, learning new activities, and exploring creative outlets.

Gugu graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2016 with a degree in social work. She is currently working for a non-profit in the Nelspruit area.

Sibu graduated from Tshwane University of Technology (Pretoria) in 2017 with a degree in visual arts. He is currently living in Johannesburg and working as a graphic designer.

Nhlanhla, a former top 10 student and chess champion at Uplands, graduated from University of Pretoria in 2017 with an accounting degree. He is currently working as an internal auditor at Ambassador Foods, a large private company, in Nelspruit.

Sizwe graduated from North West University and then went on to Wits University to complete his LLB (law). He is currently practicing law at a firm in White River, just a couple miles from Uplands College.
